Melting plant

Material which we have bought in and which is provided by our customers is collected into batches depending on its chemical composition and taken into our modern multi-chamber melting furnaces using wheel-loaders and suitable loading equipment. Natural gas is the fuel used throughout the plant.
During the melting process, the composition of the melt is continuously monitored and analysed by sampling. Sensors record all the process parameters, which are then forwarded, saved and evaluated by computer.

In 2004, the furnaces already in use (two multi-chamber melting furnaces and four casting furnaces) have been joined by a further large melting furnace. This is equipped with both a pre-heating chamber to burn off contamination from the scrap used and energy-saving EcoReg ® regenerative burner technology. This means that in future BAGR will be able to process an even broader range of input materials under ideal conditions.
The project has been developed in close cooperation with a company specialising in this furnace technology, which also provided the sophisticated burner technology.
Also in the future, BAGR will base its operation on energy saving hearth-type melting technology.
